Al Franken is an American comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, and politician. He was a writer and performer for Saturday Night Live from 1975 to 1980 and was a Democratic United States Senator from Minnesota from 2009 to 2018. He is the author of six books, including the New York Times bestseller Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them.
