Anna Porter

Anna Porter is a Canadian author, publisher, and former book publishing executive. Born in Hungary on July 2, 1943, she immigrated to Canada in 1969. Porter is well-known for her contribution to the publishing industry as the co-founder of Key Porter Books, a significant Canadian publishing firm. She also earned recognition as a writer, authoring several fiction and non-fiction works that often explore topics such as European history and politics. Her non-fiction works include "The Ghosts of Europe" which delves into the histories of Central European nations after the fall of communism, and "Kasztner's Train," which recounts the true story of a Hungarian Jew who negotiated with the Nazis for the release of a trainload of fellow Jews during World War II. Porter's work as an author is characterized by in-depth research and a compelling narrative style.
