August Wilson

August Wilson (April 27, 1945 – October 2, 2005) was an American playwright. He won two Pulitzer Prizes for Drama, and received a Tony Award nomination for Best Play for his play Fences. He wrote a series of ten plays, known as the Pittsburgh Cycle, for which he won a multitude of awards. His plays often dealt with African-American life in Pittsburgh's Hill District.
