Darrell L. Bock is an American evangelical Christian New Testament scholar. He received his PhD from Scotland’s University of Aberdeen and is well-known for his works on the historical Jesus and the theological development of the early church. Bock is the Executive Director of Cultural Engagement and Senior Research Professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. He has published numerous books and articles, including commentaries on the books of Luke and Acts, and he often engages in public debate and dialogue on religious and theological issues. His work often addresses contemporary issues in the church and theology, and he is considered an authority on the gospel of Luke and the book of Acts in particular.
