Dee Brown (1908-2002) was an American historian and author. He is best known for his book Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee (1970), a study of the displacement and mistreatment of Native Americans in the late 19th century. Brown wrote several other books on the history of the American West and Native American culture. He was a professor of history at the University of Illinois.
