Frank O'Connor

Frank O'Connor was an Irish writer of the 20th century, born on September 17, 1903, and died on March 10, 1966. His real name was Michael Francis O'Donovan, but he is best known by his pen name. O'Connor is renowned for his short stories and memoirs, being widely regarded as one of Ireland's greatest writers in this genre. His works often draw on his own life experiences, depicting the everyday life and struggles of ordinary people in Ireland with wit, insight, and compassion. Some of his most famous collections include "Guests of the Nation," "Bones of Contention," and "A Set of Variations." O'Connor also wrote novels, plays, literary criticism, and translations, showcasing his versatility as an author. He served as a director of the Abbey Theatre in Dublin and was also involved in broadcasting and lecturing on literary matters.
