John Buchan

John Buchan (1875-1940) was a Scottish novelist, historian, and politician. He is best known for his novel The Thirty-Nine Steps, which was adapted into a classic film in 1935. He was also a prolific writer of other adventure novels and biographies. He served as Governor General of Canada from 1935 to 1940.
