Wiggin Kate Douglas Wiggin (1856-1923) was an American author and educator known for her children's literature, particularly her classic novel Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. She was also a leader in the kindergarten movement in the United States and founded the first free kindergarten in San Francisco.
