Liz Cheney

Liz Cheney is an American attorney and politician who has served as the U.S. Representative for Wyoming's at-large congressional district since 2017. She is a member of the Republican Party and is the elder daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney and Second Lady Lynne Cheney. Liz Cheney has held several positions within the U.S. State Department during the George W. Bush administration and has been involved in various public service and policy-oriented roles. She has established herself as a conservative on most economic and social issues but has been notable for her outspoken criticism of former President Donald Trump, especially regarding his role in the events surrounding the January 6 Capitol riot and his baseless claims of election fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Her stance led to her being ousted from her leadership position as the Chair of the House Republican Conference in May 2021. Despite this, Cheney has remained an influential figure within the party and is known for her advocacy of a strong U.S. national defense and foreign policy.
