Naguib Mahfouz

Naguib Mahfouz (1911-2006) was an Egyptian writer and Nobel Prize winner who was considered the most renowned contemporary Arab author. He wrote more than 40 novels and short story collections, and his works often tackled social and political issues in Egypt. His most famous works include the Cairo Trilogy and Children of Gebelawi.
