Thomas C. Oden (1931-2016) was an American theologian and religious scholar widely regarded for his contributions to the study of Christian theology, ethics, and church history. Initially ingrained in liberal theology, Oden underwent a significant theological shift in the 1970s, becoming a prominent advocate for paleo-orthodoxy, an approach that seeks to align contemporary Christian faith with the consensus of the early Church Fathers. Throughout his career, Oden authored numerous books and was instrumental in promoting classical Christian teaching and patristic scholarship.
