In this new body of work conceived as a celebration of dancing, Hicks has drawn individual and overlapping figures with oil stick on transparent rice, paper works from iconic, caper dancing are paired with an earlier series, the hip-hop allegories, which were inspired by the dancing of his students at Florida A&M University, playful and beautiful Hicks iconic images, evoke the energy and exuberance of dance.
