Jay Anson was an American author best known for his 1977 novel The Amityville Horror. The book was adapted into a 1979 film of the same name and spawned numerous sequels and remakes. Anson wrote several other horror novels, including The Curse of the Hope Diamond and The Story of the Amityville Horror.
